Many fans were out there on Sunday at Brands Hatch and it was great to be racing for them at this superb track. We nearly took 3rd place after the pitstops and then after the safety car again. I was next to Italy, when Indonesia went into the pitlane for their stop and I had to back off. Italy got in front of me and also India got past. So I had to settle for 5th. This result also gave us 5th place in the championship. We are happy with that, altough we want to be better next season.

Monday night we had the award night and we won 2. The nicest for me was the one for best overtaking manouvre 2006/2007. It was a long time ago, but we had some nice overtaking in Zandvoort that made us win this price. I'm proud to be given this award, as there was so much overtaking during the season.

I will keep you updated about what's going on and I can't wait to see all the A1 GP action come back to Zandvoort again.

All the best,

But we can still make a lot of changes to the car for tomorrow and hopefully we'll be on the pace then. We know where we want to go with the car, so I have confidence that we will be quicker tomorrow. And I'm really looking forward to qualifying. On this exciting track that is going to be really nice.

After a nice PR day, with shooting and driving in buggy's, we are going out for the first time today. Renger will do the rookie session, and I will drive after that in the 2nd Free Practice and the rest of the weekend. It's been a while ago, because the last time I drove the A1 car I was in Mexico. But I want to go for it from the word go.

I will let you know how my session was today and how we progress during the weekend!

Then I had to get up and race myself. Shanghai was a lot of fun to watch, with a lot of action, like always with A1 GP. We had a good result, so it looks nice for the championship. We can still take 4th position, so that's what we have to focus on for Brands Hatch.

My race in Monza was not so lucky, we had some problems with the car. But in the end we could finish it and if we can fix the problems for Le Mans, then we should be able to surprise a lot of people there. The Dome was really nice to drive.

I will fly to Brands Hatch on Wednesday, so in about a week the action starts again.
This weekend will be the first A1 GP race I'm not there. Last season I didn't race, but went to all the races as a reserve driver, this year I've been racing at every event. So it will be a bit strange to watch it on TV for the first time, although I don't have a lot of time to watch it. I will be racing this weekend together with my A1 GP team boss Jan Lammers at Monza. We drive with the Dome in the Le Mans Series and I'm really looking forward. There is a lot of competition between all the teams and on a track like Monza topspeeds are far over 300 km/h.

I wish A1 Team Netherlands all the best in Shanghai. I hope we score a lot of points, so I can make up again some places in the championship at the last round in Brands Hatch. There I will be back behind the wheel again. I will keep you updated what's going on at Monza and how our team is doing in Shanghai.

Speak soon!

The car wasn't shifting up or down anymore, so we had to make a pitstop of over a minute. It was going really well. After a good start a was up to 4th. Then we run into trouble, but after the stop we were really fast. I was doing the same laptimes as the leaders, sometimes even a bit faster.

A shame we couldn't show our potential, because we had again a quick car for this event. Then next race In Shanghai I won't be there, because that weekend I will de driving together with my A1 GP team boss Jan Lammers in the Le Mans Series in the Dome at Monza. Top speeds will be over 300 km/u, so that's also going to be fun. I will be back in the orange A1 car at Brands Hatch, trying to win the last round of the championship of this season.

We were really good in the morning, but unfortunately we weren't as quick anymore in qualifying. Renger will do the sprintrace in the morning and then I will finally go out again in the Feature race. It's going to be a nice challenge, because I did only 14 laps here so far. But I will not give up untill the end. And hopefully Renger will make up some places during the sprintrace.

I will let you know how my day was.

In the second free practice I went out for the first time and we were straight away competitive. Even the drivers that drove the rookie session were not really faster and halfway the session we were 2nd behind Germany. They run also in the morning and got the maximum out of the tires, so it's fair to say we were fastest on track. Then we had an electronical problem with the engine, so I missed the last 25 minutes. We dropped to 5th.

So in the end I only drove 15 laps on this track and my next outing is Sunday afternoon in the Feature race. This is going to be a hugh challenge with the tracktime I had, but we will go for it. I showed again I was one of the fastest today, so I really want to finish in front Sunday, where ever I have to start from.

So tomorrow will be a relaxed day for me, just watching. But I can't wait till Sunday to fight as hard as I can.

I arrived with the team here last tuesday in Mexico City. We've done all our preparation and I can't wait to go out tomorrow. It will be a bit of a strange weekend for me, as I will only drive the 2nd free practice and the Feature race. The other sessions will be done by Renger van der Zande. So tomorrow I have to make the maximum out of the 1 hours I've got, to learn the track and make sure I can be where we've been the last races, the top 5.

Of course it will be strange to watch, but we have a great team and it's a good opportunity for Renger, so hopefully we can do a good job. We need the points as it's really tight in the championship.

I will let you know how it was in practice and how we go on over the weekend.

It's been a while since the last race, but next week we will fly to Mexico to go to the next race finally! We will arrive with the whole team on Tuesday.

I've been quite busy after Durban. I've visited the autosalon in Geneva last week. Many nice new cars were presented and of course many people involved in racing were there. And drove on my 125cc go kart to do some training. I also signed to race in the German GT championship with a Lamborghini Gallardo last week. I will do this beside my commitments with racing for Holland where we will contest the Le Mans Series and the 24 hours of Le Mans. So it's going to be a busy year. But that's what we like. Probably I will do some racing in the Netherlands if there's any time left.

But for now I really look forward to the last A1 GP races. Hopefully we can improve our position in the championship, because the last couple of races went really well. And the racing is so much fun!

Keep you posted from Mexico!

Jeroen

Back home from Durban

I just got back home from Durban. A bit disappointed to miss out on the podium at the feature race. Hopefully the next races will make it up. We were really quick all weekend. It was a shame we lost a set of tires in Free Practice. With only 2 new sets for qualifying I was happy to be 5th.

With 2 good start we worked our way up the front, but unfortunately we got a drive through penalty while we were in 2nd position. I could follow Team Germany, so I was hoping for a nice battle for the race. Still to be 6th wasn't to bad. And the whole event was very nice. Racing in the street of Durban with so many A1 GP fans was a nice experience.

It's very tight in the championship, so we will push hard to get as high as possible. I don't know the track in Mexico, but it should be a nice race again. Most of the track I didn't know. Last year we took a podium at the round in Mexico, so we'll try and do the same!

Regards,

After the last race in Eastern Creek I went back home to the Netherlands. I did some training and competed for fun in an endurance race at Zandvoort. Jan Lammers, our seat holder was also driving, but in a different car. I drove a BRL, which is a big and heavy touring car. Very heavy and touch to drive, so it was a perfect training for the next A1 GP race. Also I've done many interviews here, as we have a lot of media attention. Everybody wants to know about A1GP, so that's really nice. We've had a bit of snow, which was strange when you just come from Australia, where it's a hot summer at the moment.

I can't wait to go to Durban, because last year the team won there and I already won a streetrace this year in A1 GP in Beijing, so we should be competitive. I will leave a bit early, to go on a safari with some other drivers.

Keep you posted!

Regards,
