About the car:
We (Ron Ballon and Peer Atmosfeer) build the "first stage" it in about 32 hours and used something like 1100 balloons.
We had planned a to finish it at the racetrack, that would have taken a few hours as wel because the car still needed details like mirrors, exhaust-pipes steering wheel. We didn't quite get a 1:1 copy of the new racecar because there is hardly any technical data to be found, but came close! The size of the car was (L x W x H) 420 cm x 220 cm x 100 cm. Big enough to "sit" in it!
And now of course the challange is still standing..... next year on Zandvoort a full size copy of the A1 racecar! We now know that we can build it, the real challange seems to be getting it at the racetrack
