Hello Marty,
I've been called many a name over the years but 'fanboy'? That's a new one!!! I came on this forum to try and help the many genuine Pakistan fans, but find it extraordinary that you guys seem to be always arguing between yourselves! I have no problem with that, but it does give off very negative vibes - not only to everyone else but especially the team themselves.
Anyway Marty, you asked some questions and I will attempt to answer or comment on them:
the race engineers are offcorse experienced and good at what they do .. and offcorse they are expected to perform .. what you have said is nothing but the obvious............It might be obvious to you, but last season the team got some really abusive comments from people on this forum, which was not only very sad but incredibly demoralising for the guys who worked their butts off to build the team.
you say the car is being modified ? ... how does that work ? what is being modified ? The chassis of course cannot be changed and extended because of the necessity to make all new moulds. That would be cost prohibitive. However, they can find enough in the cockpit area to actually move the poisition of the seat back just far enough to make it legal. This is not a simple job and takes a great deal of time and effort. However, this is what is currently being done and all is going well.
and can you please quote the FIA safety regulations .............The regs state that the pedals should be no nearer than 80mm of the bulkhead or in line with the front of the wishbone joints. This is especially true of the new car because it has a newly designed collapsible front section of nose. This as you will see this season will have a tremendous effect on the speed of which a nosecone can be mended. Normally, a nosecone under FIA regs cannot be repaired as it is part of the crash structure, so of course it gets very very expensive every time you hit the nose. With this new innovation, a front cap to the nose can be cut in and glued very very quickly and keeps the costs to a minimum.
who exactly do you mean when you say " the Pakistan seatholders " ?...........Thee seatholders are the owners of the team. In A1GP, the seatholder has bought the franchise for the country and normally it will be done with the government of the countrys blessing. This is what makes A1GP truly an international series, being officially backed by the country rather than just some rich nationals.
well yeh the expectations are enormous ... the team is expected to finish in the top ten ... which means top ten in the championship!...........As I have said previously, Pakistan have done an enormous amount of restructuring over the last few months to get up the table. Some people are saying they could do well, but Marty, racing is a strange sport and as you know all too well, anything can happen. If Pakistan don't do well for any reason it will not be because they haven't tried. As a fan however, please get right behind your team and encourage them rather than just throw critiscism. They are a fantastic bunch of guys and they so want to win. Whatever happens - keep shouting for them.
