    Re: Please change Driver

    Showman:
It might be obvious to you, but last season the team got some really abusive comments from people on this forum, which was not only very sad but incredibly demoralising for the guys who worked their butts off to build the team.

who ever comes into motorsports wants to win! .. no matter what!  be it an engineer or a driver or someone on the management side! ..

    Showman:
The chassis of course cannot be changed and extended because of the necessity to make all new moulds. That would be cost prohibitive. However, they can find enough in the cockpit area to actually move the poisition of the seat back just far enough to make it legal. This is not a simple job and takes a great deal of time and effort. However, this is what is currently being done and all is going well.

looking at the car pictures (couldnt find schematics)  around 4-5 inches can be dug into the the head support benethe the airbox ... lateral 4-5 inches will give the driver an overall streach of about 10 inches depending on the body position hmm

    Showman:
Thee seatholders are the owners of the team. In A1GP, the seatholder has bought the franchise for the country and normally it will be done with the government of the countrys blessing. This is what makes A1GP truly an international series, being officially backed by the country rather than just some rich nationals.

i knwo exactly what seat holders are :) ... what i meant to ask was  .. who are Team Pakistan's seat holders?

about the second part .. a1 team pakistan has no connecting to pakistan! ... it seems as if a rich kid acquired the team just for himself ...

i am cheering for team pak all the way .. its just that the team is way silent .. they need to indulge the fans ... they need to help the people who cant say any more then " go team pak or . team pak will win the championship this year etc etc " ... the teams needs to make these people understand what the sport actually is! ...

    thanks for the reply :)

    Re: Please change Driver

Let me put you right about Team Pakistan having no connections. They very much do and it is being developed all the time. Somebody has to put the money up and it does normally take very wealthy people. They don't get anything in return though. They do it basically because they want to give back to their country. I am sure Team Pakistan will communicate more this season. I cannot say more than that at the moment. I am afraid I cannot also tell you who the seatholders are. That is for them to do. Very best wishes from everyone for a successful season and use this forum to good effect as I am sure you will. Don't forget though Marty, that this is also a great opportunity to meet and share with many nationalities and cultures. The beautiful thing about motorsport and A1GP is that whatever your beliefs, whatever your culture and whatever your politics might be, you have friends from all around the world that use motorsport and in particular A1GP to rise above all of those differences. You are always incredibly welcome to be part of that.

    Dear Mr. Khalid,

When A1 will deliver the new chassis to Pakistan? When Pakistan would test new car? are we participating in china race?

    Re: Please change Driver

Echo your sentiments entirely Martin, He is not allowed to say so let him be.

A shame Pakistan is not competing, obviously the car needs to be 100% percent safe...

The chassis when finally delivered will probably be uncomfortable for any other driver tho if he is unable to compete, Pakistan by default are limited by Khans height

    Re: Please change Driver

marty  allow me to explain things to you ...things that others here either know very well or are thinking but unwilling to say...allow me to point out the elephant in the room....its simple .... in famous words  "its the economy stupid"   ( and im not calling you stupid thats just a quote)

im sure you know whats going on around the world globally everyone, everything , every country, every company is in a lot of trouble im sure you know whats going on in F1 with entire races being knocked off the calendar. Historic races gone in a blink. So now given all that do you think A1 Team Pakistan and A1 GP the entire series will be immune to that?

First of all lets look at A1 Team Pakistan we all know that it has been artificially yet generously supported by the management of A1 GP that is something which all Pakistanis should be grateful for; not to the pervious seatholder of the team or the new "khancheema" seatholders but to A1 GP itself and the A1 GP management who were actually funding  the team for the past 3 years.

Now this year it seems that "maybe" and I stress the word "maybe" Adam khan and company have tried and are still trying to acquire the franchsie by coming up with the majority of the funding required to run a team in A1 GP.  It seems to me that the problem is most likely nothing esle but financial all else is a simple spin or cover while the financial aspects are sorted.

Most likely the new seatholders probably acquired the franchise by paying a minute fraction of the total annual amount needed to acquire the franchise. This tiny downpayment was most likely made as a show of committment and to provide an assurance to the A1 GP managment by the khancheema group that they will come up with the remainder of the money and instill confidence about  making the rest of the annual required payment within a stipulated time frame and also to obviously take over the team.

Now whats happend is that given the current economic scenario and certain other characterisitcs of the new seatholders (they have previously also tried a similar move of trying to take over the team and made assurances and tall claims and not been able to come through), in all likelihood the new seatholders have not been able to come up with the rest of the money required to actually get the new chassis and actually be allowed to race in the series.

Thus until they have made all the complete payments A1 Team Pakistan will not be allowed to race.  Hence the rest is all eye wash it all boils down to money and right now aftre making tall claims, they just dont have the money to run a team. Pure and simple.  And to be perfectly honest its going to be very very tough  for A1 Team Pakistan to exist as money will be scant.

Think about it do you really think that somebody will have paid anywhere between  US $ 2 - 4 million in these times and then not race in the first 2 races of such an importan season?!!! Does it make sense to you that just because the seat wasnt 'slightly" correct for Adam Khan that there was no way to fix the problem in all this time???? All this money, this high stakes game, such a high profile series with high tech mechanics and engineers and they cant fix a simple seat issue?    come on give us a break we may not be in the inner sanctum of A1 Team Pak or A1 GP but we fans are not as stupid , illiterate and gullible regardless of what ppl may or may not have seens and heard on Skynews and Fox News.

Do you really think any real driver with drive , amibiiton and desire and passion will want to sit out and watch from the sidelines especially after a chassis has been given to him and he has test driven that chassis and spent all this money to get the franchise?

so its either of these things:

1--A1 GP management is really incompetent and disorganized that they cant provide a proper chassis.  (as claimed by the new setholders)

2-- The mechanics and engineers are really incompetent as they cant move the seat back, push the pedals up a bit  and create some more room (also   as claimed by the new seatholders)

3-- There is nothing really wrong with the car but Adam khan is a whiner and afraid to race.

4-- Adam Khan and company do not have the money to take over the team and hence A1 GP is not allowing them to race until they pay up 100%.

My vote is to reason number 4.  U make up ur own mind.
