    Re: Please change Driver

Rand ...Please!! Are u Serious!!.. No1. is the closest answer.. If you know how to alter a Carbon Fibre race tub please tell us( with in the regs)!!. Fia regulations restrict how far the pedal can be positioned forward (not past front wheel centre line) and also how high you can sit in relation to rollover hoop.. If you don't fit thats its.. Only way is diff chassis or diff suspension, but this is not acceptable in A1 regs.. Seems they are caught between a rock and a hard place. A1 would love to fix this proplem as Pakistan is one of the finacially independant teams now.. Would not be a problem to put in another driver, BUT, the backing comes via Khans own backers, they are interested in promoting his career and not just Pakistan.

different suspention .. yeh right ..

promoting his career ?... a1gp is not very good for promoting the career .. all the racing drivers have to move a step back to get on the real stairway .. go figure ...

    Re: Please change Driver

i happen to know just how the wheels on a racecar turn;) ...

look at the facts .... F1 hates A1 like anything ... the cars are top notch .. just a bit lower in catagory then the gp2 cars   .. F1 people just dont like A1 and thats that ..

all the a1 drivers that are now in F1 .. like hulkenberg .. he took a step back to F3 and now is in F1 .. williams test driver ....

racing drivers have just one dream .. to get to the pinicle of motorsports .. which happens to be formula 1!

i had a dream of being a race car driver and i've figured the road through out the years watching facts and studying the sport!... im just too bloody old now :\ ....

so anyway .... im sure adam has the same ambition ... as if its so totally not obious right? ...

hes gonna finance the team for himself by himself .. get experience .. he sucked in GP2 asia .... so after hes gotten good experience in A1 .. he'll move on to a higher series .. something that takes him closer to F1 .. abandoning A1 ... whast gonna happen to team pak then huh ? ....

call these speculation or whatever .. or just say you dont like me ;)

Your words "a1gp is not very good for promoting the career .. all the racing drivers have to move a step back to get on the real stairway"

Your words "or just say you don't like me"

Firstly there are many racing series that showcase your skills -- A1GP is a winter series -- F3, GP2, etc are Summer series -- we are of course talking Northern Hemisphere because that is where the decision makers for major series reside.

Secondly how can anyone form an opinion of you from a handful of posts here. But if that is what you think -- your prerogative.

i am not forcing my opinion on anyone .... evenyone is entitled to their own opinion right ;)

i am just here to see the progress of A1team pak

but apparently they have been given a shutup call ...

    its dissapointing really .....

    anyway ...

    Re: Please change Driver

    Marty,

Adam Khan is a smart chap and I'm sure deep down he knows he is not going to make F1. Perhaps the reason he is trying to invest in the Pakistan A1GP franchise is because he has already realised that it will be his future focus?

A change that occured in season 3 was that some of the drivers started to view A1GP as a career destination in it's own right instead of a step to something else (travel the world and have fun in A1GP + earn decent money in sportscars during the summer).

Hulkenberg's profile was raised considerably by his A1GP success and it was that that but him in contention for the Williams F1 test drive. Continuing in F3 was always his and Weber's plan, he did not have to 'step back' as you put it.

haha your killing his morral already ..

yeh ... invest in team pak and be what .. another arif hussain ..... an 'arif hussain' is not good for the sport in the country ....

hulkenberg is just one example ... he was being managed by guess who ... the guy who managed schumacher ... he has good enough links everywhere to get him a nice seat in F1 ... but teams need experience drivers from the credible race series .. and a1 is not one of them ... well not yet ...

you think wrong ... A1 doesnt have the heritage the names the technology independence the drivers the fame the money the tracks the fans .. a1 is just as good as any other race series .. like F 3000 or FPA or FRenault .. the only difference is .. instead of race teams running it .. its the nations that are running it ... dont even compare it to F1 :)

    Shows how little you know.

But it is you who are comparing it to F1. So why don't you go over to an F1 board and tell them how great they are. I understand their are a few Ferrari boards where you get your own blinkers issued free of charge on joining.

ok not quiet by the nations .... but that how it was idealised right ? .... team america is supposed to be run by an american race team and is supposed to have an american driver american seat holder right ? ... is that not how it was first idealised ? ...

about A1 and F1 ... i was clarifying our good friend Mr Kiwi3 .. how different they actually are ... i never compared .. i gave out differences

No it was started and continued as Nation vs. Nation.

One team/franchise per nation to be bought by a national who employs drivers of the same nationality [international rules down to grandparents].

The rest was never a part of the nationality rules because A1GP always intended to go to areas without a racing heritage and therefore no expertise in running and maintaining a race team.

The idea was that through A1GP they could employ people who could gain experience alongside experienced technicians therefore in the future could run the team from within the nation.

    Re: Please change Driver

    Marty,

I've followed F1 since 1988 and A1GP since it was started, I realise the difference thank you.

You however seem rather confused. In the same post you write:

"but teams need experience drivers from the credible race series .. and a1 is not one of them ... well not yet ... "

    But:

"a1 is just as good as any other race series .. like F 3000 or FPA or FRenault"

You'll therefore have to excuse anyone else for not quite following your rather muddled arguments.

    Re: Please change Driver

Kiwi3 i agree, have you been following Adam Khan in F3000 he's doing very well. www.euroseries3000.com he might have a chance of winning it.

    Regards
