    Well Welcome to A1GP Yes

The off-track action may be rubbish but the on-track action is GREAT!

Re: Partly empty grid at Zandvoort

Nice to see evidence that AGR's involvement is attracting new fans.

Although I'm not convinced the new cars will provide better racing given that they are more dependent on aero grip (the old cars had small wings and fat slicks, like cars from the '70s), the series is really fun to watch, particularly with the mix of experienced drivers and up-and-comers.

A1GP was where I first saw some drivers who later became known over here, e.g. Scott Speed, Neel Jani (raced in the final season of Champ Car), Graham Rahal, Sebastian Buemi (races sportscars out here now I think), Nelson Piquet Jr., Sebastian Vettel ...

Re: Partly empty grid at Zandvoort

Canada, Germany, Mexico, Great Britain, and India were told te be missing at Zandvoort.

Germany isn't missing. Willy Weber didn't want to race this year in the A1GP. So there were 4 teams missing, Canada, Mexico, Great Britain and India. They were missed.

The races were spectacular, but seeing the grid was a bit empty every fan had to feel a bit sad. For the teams missing the race it was even worse. Almost every team could have gotten points.

We have to applaud the organisation for getting all these cars at Zandvoort at time. China, France, Portugal and Brasil had to put teh car together on saterday and the qualify immediately. very good effort from those teams.

We enjoyed the race, it was very cold and wet, but the races made up for that.

Re: Partly empty grid at Zandvoort

Hi Guys, i was wondering if anybody could help me out there, came over from ireland for the race weekend which was an absolute washout, they might think of moving the race weekend forward a few weeks as that was the worst conditions i have ever witnessed for a race and a lot of people headed to the exit very early and i was one of them ... disappointed with ireland of course but at least if the rest of the season goes well we wont have to worry about that disaster... any way what i was wondering about was when they changed the qualifying format as i had not heard any of this and the race programme also didn't say anything and when did the feature race grid chnage to the result of the sprint race... as there was no commentary at the track on satureday for the qualifying i had no idea what was going on.start line
    Ireland to push on

Hi Mickeydeux,it was announced on Sky Sports on saturday.the hour long qualifying format is for Zandvoort only to give the teams a chance to do some long distance running with the car as some teams were late recieving their cars.We will definately have to drop that round as our worst score, its a pity as Adam could have got a good haul of points, still though he is happy with car and looks more promising for this year.

Do you know what?  I not sure that the teams who missed this round will be entirely unhappy.  Sure there were points up for grabs, but given the carnage, the chances of coming away with a complete car were probably 50/50.  At least they get there cars delivered in one piece and have maximum time for testing in China, and no surprise bills.

    Hasty.

Fosj , just because Willi Webber is not involved does not mean that Germany will not compete.. I saw Andrea Lottera wondering around the paddock, and a friend said he saw him sitting in the NZ car..NZ and Germany were last year ran by same team!!

    Hi Gerry

Welcome to the world of A1GP! You will find that this race series is like nothing else that has ever existed!! I have been attending races all over the world covering many different types of series, but this is extraordinary. From the fans to the crews to the drivers, everyone has time for each other and it is the best advert for racing anywhere. We were working at Zandvoort this last weekend and made many friends with the Dutch fans. In fact 4 of them worked with us all week. The spirit behind the series is just unbelievable. Good luck to Team USA.

Talk about heroes. You have been working very hard to try to create all the liveries on the grid. And if that wasn't enough, you had to change Pakistan's car into the Swiss car.

See you next year Showman Wink
