A1 Team Malaysia announced (in an email update) that their car will be delivered to them very soon. They can start assemble the car on July 28. I guess they're not the only team that can start with the car!

First official test is August 18-20 at Silverstone, so should be enough time.

Hi all,

 Just some points to throw in and basically get off my chest

The new car seems to have no identity, what I mean is the Lola/Zytek car was distinctive and it was different on the eye from other single seat formula. A1GP is trying to be different and I think has largely succeeded, but this new car looks like a GP2/FPA/F3 etc etc type. OK on steriods a little, but looks like the rest.

From the video that has been released the engine noise seems to be a little tame also (could be me though), am I right this is a GT2 engine? One of the smile factors for me at A1GP races has been the almighty scream, over run then the nod of my head to say "yes" this is motor racing (emphasis on racing unlike F1).

Is there boost?

Will it be bio fuelled?

Feel better now and for all the negative points are looking forward to seeing this thing in the flesh. 

I know what you mean Dave, the car has become a littlebit a common race car instead
of the typical big rear tyred low downforce monster we had.

For me it really doesnt matter as long as the races are exiting we had before,
meaning the downforce level of the Ferrari has to be low otherwise it becomes
very hard to come out of a slipstream or overtake in corners.

Lets hope for the best

I think they will be changing that colour scheme design before the new season starts -- not very inspiring in my view.

Hmmm...South Africas paint job is certainly not as exciting as previous seasons....but hell, its my team and I will still drive up to the new venue (Kayalami raceway) to see them. I must say I am a little disappointed the Kayalami was selected. The track always seems old, dirty and drab. Perhaps February is the best month for it as its the rainy season, should add a little colour to the track! :-))

So far the new car is looking good, gbr needs to go back to there orginal style as last year wasnt that great.

 

This is a fresh start for teams for new car colours and graphics.

Wholeheartedly agree. Compare the A1GP powered by Ferrari car to the sound of the low budget Superleague Formula, which is running a V12 engine producing 750bhp at 12,000 rpm.

 Without wanting to start a trend of directly comparing A1GP to F1, the Ferrari's that we all knew and loved were the high pitch V12 monsters and I was so hoping that we'd see them again in open wheel racing, care of A1GP.
