    Mugello off

    what a joke.

why cant this racing body get anything right?

i was annoyed that no venue has yet been announced for British A1GP 2009 ,but this take the biscuit.

i was so close to booking flights and hotel for Mugello but luckily it clashed with my holidays.

    lucky me.

    Re: Mugello off

Well what a professionals overthere by A1GP Tongue Tied

I mean first of all people who already booked everything, have to hope that the hotels etc accept a cancellation because A1GP has cancelled a race.

But how can it be that a race must be cancelled because the cars are not ready yet. They are using an old formula 1 Ferrari car as a base and tune it a bit so it's not to much like the formula 1 car and then they just have to test it. I mean does it really have to take so long ? If it does why didn't they use the A1GP cars from last season, this season and make sure that the new. powered by Ferrari, car if fully operational next season or half way this one. Guess it has all have to be something with money and the image of Ferrari ...

Well let's hope that they can hold on to what is being said on the site: "We still have some great announcements to make"

    Re: Mugello off

its a bit amateur alright, does this mean that Mugello will be re-scheduled later in season?if not its a bit of a bummer for Ferrari not having a home race in their capacity as manufacturer for the 1st time.

    Re: Mugello off

no word of it been refixed.

    they probably dont know themselves.

here we are a few weeks to the start of the new season with a skeleton fixture list.

    a Disgrace!

they must have known a while ago that they were in trouble.

why not let the fans know that there was a doubt about the fixture before flights and accomadation were booked.

    Very very painful...

I hope they fit Mugello in the 5 week gap between Zandvoort and Jakarta...

I think the cars are ready but the crash of Friesacher
made them change all the backwishbones... :(

    Re: Mugello off

The chassis and engines all come from Ferrari, yet you blame A1 management? It would seem Ferrari were a bit over optimistic with their target dates for the cars.

Only the engines come from Ferrari they helped with the design of the chassis but don't supply it.

The car is produced in Bognor Regis, Sussex... It's not Ferrari supplying the cars

    Re: Mugello off

You have to hope that they reschedule the Mugello race.  Are some rather large gaps between race weekends that need filling.
