    Kerr and Jarvis

What happened to Kerr and Jarvis. Last season Jarvis was doing pit-lane reporting for Sky.Sports, but now he is nowhere to be seen.

And for Kerr i dont have a clue, dissappeared of the the face of this earth. If theres one thing i dont like about A1GP is not having at least one driver who will be available for the whole season, so at least you got an idea on who might race. At the moment its all a shambles, one week alex young is driving against other drivers like andy ried and the next fairuz Fauzy is racing against earl bamber!!

K-GBR. First the good news. I can give you a bit of 'inside' information - Ollie will be one of Sky Sport's guests on the A1GP of Malaysia shows.

Now the bad news. With respect I think your a bit out of date with your suggestion that in A1GP drivers are not known from one race to the next and too often change. The website these days is updated regularly and includes a list of the drivers nominated to run. Malaysia ran Fairuz Fauzy in Zandvoort and Chengdu and have already said that he'll run at Sepang too. Ditto Ireland with Adam Carroll, ditto Portugal with Filipe Albuquerque and so on. Some of the drivers do change, but remember A1GP is a Nation versus Nation competition though naturally the identity of the drivers is very important. Those that do change, Netherlands for example, even said Zandvoort that they'd run Jeroen Bleekemolen first, then Robert Doornbos and Bleekemolen again for Sepang.

It's not a shambles at all. A1GP is a nation vs. nation contest and team managers have the right to choose who they like for each round. Speculating on who would be the best driver or who the driver will be is part of the fun, and it is interesting to see the depth of talent that each country has.

    Re: Kerr and Jarvis

I know it is difficult for motorsport fans to understand A1GP -- A1GP is Unlike Any Other Racing Series -- not driver concentrated.

"Up to THREE drivers per team can enter each A1GP weekend. The choice of drivers for Practice, Qualifying and Either Race is at the sole discretion of the team principal but only one driver, per team, per session is allowed."

The fan of A1Team.[enter your nations name] must trust their teams principals to put the best driver available in the car.

Since it was written down on a small piece of paper in 2003 the concept has always been Nation vs. Nation points awarded to Nation the driver can change at any time. A European Winter Series all cars the same. Those are the basic rules!

As always martin is on the ball.......for us A1 gp supporters  its about nation racing nation....  as long as the team principal picks the whom they consider the best driver for the circuit ,that okay by me

Probably growing up watching formula 1 has sharpened my opinion, but i still think they should have at least 1 nominated driver who you know will be there through the season, otherwise how do rivalries develop?

    Re: Kerr and Jarvis

    A1GP is about the NATIONS!

It is up to the nations to pick the best driver that they can get to drive for them. A1GP has NO driver eliment whatsoever. It is the nation versus nation that is important.

This is the only problem that A1 and now Superleague Formula have - the media can not grasp the fact that its the nations that matter.

A1GP themselves, Martin-A1 and myself have always stressed this through our sites but it sometimes seems a pointless task when no-one listens.

IF the series was about the drivers then there would be no point calling each nation a nation in A1GP. It would be like all other series where the drivers matter. A1 reverses the emphasis and gives opportunities for young drivers to come in and prove themselves in a top-class series.

    Re: Kerr and Jarvis

Make it clear and simple alex. If it was about drivers, there would be a drivers standings table. If its about Nations, there is a nations standings table. So which standings tableis on the homepage of A1GP.com?

Is there not a rivalry between Australia and New Zealand, and between Great Britain and Ireland, and between China and Korea etc etc already, from years of history and rivalries in other sports?

I actually think they should go in the other direction and have more drivers, so that it is more of a team approach. But differing opinions are what makes life interesting.

    Re: Kerr and Jarvis

hmm...more drivers/less drivers, same to me, as long as there is a driver in the car, not like the case in durban a few years ago when Enrico Toccacelo had to drive for PAK!

i think South Africa is with in the AUS/NZL rivalry, like all other sports! Stick out tongue
