    Where's Team Canada???

Just as I was set to take more of an interest in this sport the team I'm interested in is no where to be found.  Anyone know what the hold up is?

I think the franchise holder decided not to continue so it basically doesn't exist any more.

The franchise holder was interested in carrying on and a deal very nearly came together. However, not enough money was put down on the table and A1GP did not want a situation like in season 1 where money runs out mid term and the team have to scratch. The teams representing the countries have really got to be strong now as the A1GP series cannot and should not, pay their way just to get them there.

OK, thanks for putting that straight. It's good that A1GP is not propping up teams any more, as a number of teams proved early on that it is quite possible to gain sponsors and develop the profile of A1GP in their home market. It was really noticeable at Chengdu that almost all of the teams now have some degree of sponsorship on the cars now - unlike before when there were some blank ones.

A shame really... I liked Team Canada. Lived there for 2 years, great people and deserving of a team in A1GP. Let's hope for a comeback on next season! Smile

Now we only have 1 team from North America. Sad Viva Mexico.

I refuse to support those mercenaries from AGR.

Good luck to Wade Cherwayko and the team finding sponsors - hopefully they will make it onto the grid some time this season, if not next season. We need a Canadian team, just like we need a German team (and luckily they've got it together).

Showman, do you know if there is any chance of Canada joining later this season, if they manage to find the required money? Or are they out for the season now?

Yep. One more car in grid would be nice. No money no team.
Life is life, after all. Even after A1GP.

Still, project mine is GT serie... GT4 or GT3.. depends of sponsors..

At least a new generation of young drivers a coming. Brighter days for the Canadians....just be patient.

I see two races in Canada in a near future for the A1GP....One in T.O and the other in Mont Tremblant.
